Bio

In her sixth year with the State of Colorado, Julie brings extensive Risk Management and claims experience to the organization including Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Automobile, Construction Defect and Property. She has over fifteen years of experience in the insurance industry, including carrier and broker experience as well as risk management for a large Colorado school district and the Colorado Department of Transportation before coming to the State Office of Risk Management. As a risk manager, Julie works with staff at all levels of the State to prevent and reduce claim frequency and severity through specified programs for various agencies across the State. Julie has managed workers’ compensation claims, property and liability claims and understands the Captive and Pooling of risk mechanisms as it relates to organizations. She has worked on Master Builder’s Risk policies as well as Owner Controlled Insurance Programs, both as the owner and with various subcontractor clients. Julie is a Colorado native and holds a Bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. She also has her Associates in Risk Management for Public Entities, Associates in Claims, and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designations and has presented at state level conferences as well as two national conference presentations.
