Title IX and Gender Identity: The Evolving Compliance Landscape for Schools.

Title IX has had broad sweeping impacts since its inception in 1972. Fast forward 50 years, and Title IX is front and center again with regard to gender identity issues. The panel will discuss what schools from K thru Higher Ed are facing, and the decisions they must make when going down this new road. Here we are in Texas, and one of the early Title IX transgender student cases came out of Texas – U.S. v. Texas, 201 F. Supp. 3d 811 (N.D. Tex. 2016).
